Carver Community Center, Inc. incorporated the Pickleball Club in 2016. Since then, men and women have enjoyed games Monday through Friday from 9 am-2 at 1030 N. Purdum St.
Many people ask what pickleball is. According to the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), pickleball is "a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. [It is a] fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. [It is played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. [And it is played] with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes [with]... doubles or singles."
To participate during regular pickleball hours, 9a-12p, you must have a Carver Center membership or pay the daily rate. Contact us today!

In memory
Jerry Madden helped establish the pickleball program at Carver Community Center, Inc. His contagious smile and endless enthusiasm made him a good player and an even better friend. Unfortunately, Jerry passed in March of 2019. On Thursday, May 23, Carver's pickleball players and staff got together to commemorate the life of a wonderful man.
