Carver Community Center, Inc. incorporated the Pickleball Club in 2016. Since then, men and women have enjoyed games Monday through Friday from 9 am-2 at 1030 N. Purdum St.

The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. [It is a] fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. [It is played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. [And it is played] with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes [with]... doubles or singles."

In memory
Jerry Madden helped establish the pickleball program at Carver Community Center, Inc. His contagious smile and endless enthusiasm made him a good player and an even better friend. Unfortunately, Jerry passed in March of 2019. On Thursday, May 23, Carver's pickleball players and staff got together to commemorate the life of a wonderful man.
